Outdoor Boot Camp Program Components
Our 50 minute sessions include a dynamic warm-up, 30 minute workout, metabolic meltdown finisher, then a cool-down, and stretching period. Our 30 minute workout has been proven scientifically to be the most effective training time for fat loss and building strength for men and women.
Each member works out at their own pace within the group. We split members up to work with partners, a small training group of 4-6 and with the entire class at times. Our nationally certified expert instructors maintain the “pulse” of the workout, keeping it fun and challenging while making modifications for individuals which makes the training more personalized.
Each training day, or workout, includes a run or cardio component, a resistance or strength-training component and a core-training component. Each component is designed to focus on speed, agility, power, strength, or endurance. Many of the exercises rely on body weight, but we also utilize equipment such as dumbbells, resistance bands, agility ladders, a partner’s body weight, and other natural and man made aspects of the park like stairs, benches, hills and the active oval.
Our training week is designed so that there is minimal overlap in training different muscle groups. This allows for greater recovery and a highly efficient approach to achieving balanced, total-body fitness.
Moving through each 4-week session, we gradually increase the training intensity and volume to keep up with your body as it adapts to the training, ensuring that you’ll receive the most out of every week you train with us.

When After Burn happens it catapults your body into what is scientifically known as Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) – a physiological measure of the oxygen used in excess of what you would require after exercising.
That’s the secret to getting twice the fat loss results of any other workout program around. It’s been scientifically proven that when your body enters After Burn you continue to burn more calories even after your workout for as much as 30 hours.
At MODO Fitness Boot Camp each workout combines elements of High Intensity Interval Training as well as Active Rest periods making sure to give you the best possible workouts and most calories burned in every session.
In fact, our average workout burns 600 – 900 calories in under an hour – that’s twice the calories burned over other workouts program out there. Every workout you do with us flips your metabolism switch into After Burn so you’ll continue to burn more calories for up to 30 hours after your workout session. That’s what makes MODO Fitness Boot Camp workouts so unique and effective.
The first full month you become a member, you’ll complete our basic fitness assessment test to measure and track your progress throughout out program.
Our basic fitness assessment includes taking weight and body fat percentage measurements, as well as muscular strength and endurance. Workout of the day (WOD) challenges are given during each month to test and track members progress throughout the program.
We recognize that proper nutrition is essential to achieving fitness and weight-loss goals. We have a dietitian on staff and provide dietary recommendations that work in conjunction with our training program, as well as meal plans, grocery shopping lists and logs for each member that registers for a full session.
Our workouts are a great way to connect with nature and Atlanta’s premier park, Piedmont Park. (no smelly gyms here.) You will be surprised how motivating, exciting, and different it can be to train with our groups in the fresh outdoors, but be prepared to get a little dirty at our workouts. We have many natural and man made features to use throughout the park so you’ll get a great workout and enjoy scenic views from different areas of the park.
The key to being consistent with any fitness program is working out with people you like. Our fitness instructors are not only nationally certified (you won’t find this in any other boot camp around), and highly experienced athletes, but they’re nice and personable: they take an interest in helping you reach your fitness goals. They will push you, but they won’t yell at you. In a group setting like the one we’ve established, peer motivation is another organic motivator that can give you that extra nudge when you’re tempted not to workout.
Our workouts are labeled “boot camp” because they create total-body fitness and mental toughness in a group setting. But you won’t find any drill sergeants among our trainers.
In fact, our program is a great way to meet new people and create close bonds with others who want to live a healthy lifestyle. We host social events 6 or more times a year so that members can get to know each other outside of class.

Let us assure you that you will enjoy our friendly and encouraging instructors and no one is going to be in your face screaming. We are a happy bunch that finds happiness in your success and believe that encouragement works better than screaming every time.
Men, women and all fitness levels are welcome and the energy of a group can do wonders for your workout. Most people in our groups are just like you… normal people that want to get in or stay in great shape. Start dates are generally the first Monday of a month. Please call us or check our schedule below for start dates. New members complete an orientation / assessment workout held on the first day.

Before you begin you will need to turn in paperwork. We will answer questions, demonstrate our warm up routines, cover proper form of basic exercises, briefly discuss nutrition and an do an assessment to measure your starting point. After orientation, monthly assessments will help track your progress from here throughout our program. We take your fitness seriously and want you to improve each month.

All classes meet in the parking lot of Park Tavern. Address: 500 10th St. NE Atlanta, GA 30309. Our workouts are always held in the park unless special events or group outings dictate we meet elsewhere. Be 10 minutes early.

**Rain and Bad Weather Policy: We will workout RAIN or SHINE with two exceptions. We will not workout in extremely heavy rain or lightning. We will post on Facebook (our page link) first and then notify you by email at least 30 minutes prior to class if it has been cancelled. Make up classes will be scheduled as needed and may be on Wednesday or Saturday.
